Do you ever have one of those days when just the little pet peeve that someone does actually sets you off today where you would love to tell them off, but instead you bite your tongue? That’s about how I’m feeling already. Here I get mocked for being on the computer, but what happens when Paul or one of his friends needs something looked up?!? Sure enough…. I get to hear the “Jen, can you look something up for me”? Do you know how many times I would love to say “look it up yourself!” but I don’t. Instead I bite my lip and take my time looking it up so I can see what’s new on Facebook first. ~grin~
I do have to admit at least I don’t mind looking up what they need me to. Usually is about hunting or trying to find them a cheap place to stay when they go on their fishing trip. That kinds of stuff I suppose I can handle. At least it’s not asking me to look up and read something like no xplode reviews to see if it works or not. Of course if I was into working out, weight lifting.. etc I bet I wouldn’t mind looking and reading them because I would want to know the same information. But when I read about hunting & places for the guys to go.. it’s also a win for me because that also means the cat will be leaving so us 3 mice (Kevin, Katie & I) will be able to play hard too! ~smirk~
They always say that diamonds are a girls best friend. While I’m sure to some women diamonds are as they would love to have a satchel filled with loose diamonds, but I can say not all women feel that way.
The reason why I can say that is because I’m one of those women who trulyonly wanted one diamond in my life and that was my engagement ring. I didn’t care what size it was. Honestly if I had to choose between a smaller diamond or a huge diamond like you see the movie stars get.. I would of chosen the small diamond in a heartbeat as to me wearing a huge one like they do would scare me. Plus I would always be worrying about getting it dirty so every time I would do the dishes, work out in the yard, do anything I would be taking it off. With the diamond I have, I can do it all and not worry.
All I can say is my husband did a wonderful job when picking out my diamond and I know he’s thinking how glad he is that he doesn’t have to choose anymore.
Paul loves his Levis 560′s, but unfortunately it seems to be none of the stores around here carry them anymore. Yes, they carry Levis, but not the 560′s. We could order them online, but he hates the fact that he would have to pay shipping. We ended up finding another pair of jeans that seem to work, but I guess they just aren’t quite like the Levis.
When I talked to my Mom she asked if we tried the tractor supply stores. (We have two different ones in our area) I had never thought about trying them as I always think of them having things like horse & cattle supplies or other farming stuff. I forget that they do have clothes there too.
Maybe since today is a rainy, dreary day and there is nothing else to do we could go check them out to see if maybe they carry the style Paul likes.
I am so tired of every day hearing how tired Paul is. He can go to bed before me and sleep in 2-3 hrs after me and still be tired the next morning and says that it’s because he can’t sleep good, not because he gets to much. (rolling my eyes) Over a year ago (more like 2) I finally talked him into seeing a sleep doctor to see if they could figure out why he can’t sleep worth anything.
They did do a sleep study and said he has a very mild case of sleep apnea and that wasn’t what was causing his problems, instead it was that he could never get into a deep sleep. So they started giving him medications to use to try and get him to be able to get in his deep sleep. Unfortunately only one of them had worked (Ambien CR) but he got taken off of them due to him eating in the middle of the night and not remembering it the following morning. I guess one of the doctor’s other patients that was on them an ended up doing the same thing and cut herself really bad and never realized it as the drug actually will turn your brain off. Paul would take one of his pills, watch his favorite tv show with me and then the following morning he would ask me what the show was about as he didn’t even remember watching it. Paul thinks the only reason why that worked and the others don’t is that it had a time release on it, where the other’s don’t. So when Paul takes his medication as soon as it wears off (could be in 4 hrs) he ends up waking up and can’t get back to sleep again.
I just wish he could try something all natural instead of being on medication all the time. I know at one point his normal doctor had tested his blood and his B12 was REALLY low so he is suppose to be taking them. (When you are low in B12 you have less energy) I keep wondering if I could FINALLY get him to take his B12, maybe take a nice warm shower at night to relax him, maybe buy a new cradlesoft mattress and have a CD of waves crashing if that would help? I know Kevin’s martial arts instructor said to hive him eat a spoon of honey. Supposedly there is something in honey that will help you sleep. Of course I’m sure some of the reason why he has a hard time sleeping is because of the shift he is on. (2pm-1am)
If you know of any other ways to help someone fall asleep and stay asleep, please let me know. I know they say if you go to bed and don’t fall alseep after 20 minutes to get up and do something like read a book, but besides that.. what other trick could I try and have Paul do (even though I know he probably will fight me on it as I swear he thinks the only answer is medication) to get him to sleep and only need 8 hours of sleep a night.
So last night when Paul and I were sitting here watching tv he started complaining how he felt like a teenager again as for some reason he is having issues with acne. He’s hoping it was just because he had worked so hard earlier in the day that a lot of it was due to sweat. All I know is I had to giggle a little as now maybe he will understand what us women can go through when our hormones go out of what every month! So me being the nice wife tried looking online to see if I could find a natural acne treatment that just might help him. He never did complain this morning, so maybe all the looking online was for nothing?
If you read my other blog.. you already read this I’m sure, but I’m so proud of Paul I thought I would post it here as well!
Thankfully I was still up reading my book, but that didn’t stop from making my heart start pounding when the phone started ringing at 1:15am, because that can only mean one thing… somethings wrong!
I answered it and it was Paul! He called to say “guess what I just did”. Here I’m thinking he got in an accident, locked his keys in the the truck.. something like that.
Nope.. he’s playing Mr. Cop tonight.
He just about got in an accident due to someone just about hitting him because they ran a red light! He said the guy was obviously drunk.. going from one line to another. Going anywhere between 35-45 so he said ya know what.. screw it and dialed 911!! Since he was following him at that point he was able to give them the license plate number, color and make of the car and which way the person was heading! The Sheriff’s department said they would send units out that way and have some by his house in case they didn’t find him. Needless to say Paul is feeling pretty good right now. Maybe if they do catch the drunk driver (I pray they do) Paul will of saved someones life tonight!
All I know is it seems like we are hearing about more accidents lately where someone has died due to drinking and driving! PLEASE.. if you drink, don’t drive! Have someone be your designated driver! If you don’t have one, just call a taxi or even a loved one. I can promise you, they would rather pick you up than have someone give you the news that you got in an accident and either died or killed someone else. It’s not worth it! Please be responsible!
Both Paul and I grew up taking Piano lessons so it’s only normal for us to want our kids to take piano as well. Both sets of Grandparents still have the piano’s we grew up on, so whenever we go over to the one set of Grandparents Katie will always ask Paul or I to “play piano“. Me, I don’t remember songs off the top of my head so I tend to let Paul do the honors. (Plus I still hate playing in front of people and he could care less)
So Paul and I were talking about it and it looks as if next year once we get our nest egg saved up I can start looking for a piano for the kids! Of course he wants one like his parents has (they have a Yamaha Clavinova) so wish me luck on finding a good deal on one of those!
Do you have a piano? If so, what kind do you have? Do you play it a lot?
Last week Paul had a doctors appointment to hear the results from his blood work. Needless to say he found out that he was on his way of being a diabetic and our doctor highly recommended that he better change his eating habits! You have no clue how that made my day as I’ve been always trying to eat healthy, but when Paul just HAD to have his cookies, chips.. etc it made it hard because if I felt like snacking there was that junk staring at me and my will power just wasn’t strong enough.
So today I went grocery shopping and it felt so good to just be able to bypass those aisles and to buy more fruit as I wasn’t spending the money on any junk food! At least now I don’t have to even have to think of taking a diet pill as I know having the health food in the house will help us all!
I’m proud to say Paul was such a trooper last Saturday night! He was asked to go in the dunk tank to help raise money for our friends 6 year old son who was diagonsed with brain cancer. I felt the water and let me tell you, it was ICE COLD! It felt like they had just filled it up with the water from the garden hose. I can honestly say I’ve never seen him move that fast before in my life!
