Wordless Wednesday ~ Momma Turkey & her babes
Since we did our taxes this year I’ve realized that I really need to keep better track of our “business” receipts. Since last year was my first year as an “independent writer” I had no clue what would be a write off. Now that we know, I find myself keeping more receipts and the envelope I’ve been putting them in seems to be getting a little small. So my goal today is to get all my business stuff organized so come next year I’ll be ready. I do good on writing everything I spend (so you could say I have good document management skills, it’s just the putting the receipts away where they won’t get lost instead of throwing them in a pile in my room.
Do you own a business? If so, where do you put all your receipts? In an envelope? Shoe box? File Cabinet Or do you have yours nice and organized in something else?

Father’s Day is this weekend! Have you figured out what you are getting your Dad or spouse this year? It feels good to already have Paul’s present bought (his weber grill) and knowing what to get both Dad’s. For Paul’s Dad we will be giving him money to go towards getting his Mercury finished. (He’s been restoring it for the last 7 years) For my Dad my sister & I are going in together on a gift. I would post what we are getting him, but I know he reads my blogs from time to time and I really don’t want to give the surprise away.
For those that have no clue what to get your Dad and are thinking of doing the bow ties route, my advice is don’t get one of those gaudy ones, to me they usually take away from the outfit as that’s all you look at. Instead go with a classy solid color! It doesn’t matter what color, when it’s a solid they all look good!

Sometimes I like getting mail, then there are other days I would rather the mail lady of skipped our house. Today’s mail wasn’t to bad, but we did get a big fat envelope letting us know the changes that are happening with our health insurance at my husbands work. While skimming through it I actually started paying a little closer attention to the insurance we would get once Paul retires. I know he has quite a few more years there, but after seeing how fast this school year went for the kids I have a feeling before I know it I’ll be throwing a retirement party for him.
Then it got me thinking… I remember a few years ago a lot of the elderly people on medicare we starting to get their medication in the mail versus going to the pharmacy. Thankfully we don’t have to worry about that yet as all the medication we have needed was covered, but what would I do if I had to pay full price for these pills? I know for sure I would be calling all the pharmacies finding who would be the cheapest, but would I dare go online for example and order Phentermine and just have them send it to my house? That I’m not so sure.
Have you ever ordered any medication online or by phone and had it mailed to your house? If so, did you do it more for convenience? Or because of the price?
If you live in West Michigan I can promise you, that you’re thinking the same as me. What a beautiful day and why does it have to get nasty hot & humid starting tomorrow? Why can’t it stay awesome like this? The kids & I have had so much fun today. We went for a bike ride, bobbed for apples, played Frisbee, played in the sandbox & swing set, just enjoying our day.
Since Paul leaves for work in a few minutes I came online to print off a geocache that I wanted to do at Johnson Park in Walker. I thought it’s to nice of a day, why not go to a park, look for the pull up bar one, but after reading the last two logs about it, the mosquitoes were so awful people had to literally RUN out of the woods and buy mosquito spray. Since Mosquitoes love the kids & I, I’m thinking maybe we will stay on this side of town instead.
Off to see what geocache closer to home would be better to do! I hope you are having as fun of a day as we are!

In case you are looking for a great place to stay in the Orlando area, take a look at this home! I just love their video for it! What’s really nice is if you have any issues the owner lives in the same development instead of states away!
